Asphalt Shingles

Asphalt shingles are one of the most popular choice for steep roofs. Using asphalt shingles allows you to have a wide selection of colors, textures, and shapes for your commercial roof. Some of the biggest advantages that come with the shingle roofing system are low cost, easy installation, resistant to harsh elements and some are environmentally friendly.  Our E & H Roofing specialists are knowledgeable to be able to help you understand all available options for your building.

TPO is a roofing system for low slop buildings that is classified in the single-ply category.  It is installed in a single membrane application without multiple layers. The membrane can be installed using different methods: mechanically attached, adhered, ballasted and plate bonded. The seams and flashings are completed using hot air welding equipment. TPO membranes come in a variety of colors but are primarily available in white, grey and tan.

PVC Roofing is classified in the single-ply category. PVC roofing is made from two layers of PVC roof material with polyester added in between the layers to reinforce. The top ply contains additives that make the membrane UV resistant. The top layer also makes the sheet be flexible. The flexibility of the material is great for the installation process. Some of the biggest benefits are that it is weldable, fire resistant, environmentally friendly, durable and resistant to chemicals.

EPDM is an extremely durable synthetic rubber roofing membrane. The colors available are black and white. EPDM is sold in variety of widths and thicknesses. The material can be installed adhered, mechanically and ballasted. The seams are sealed with a liquid adhesive or special formulated tape. Some of the major benefits of the EPDM roofing system are cost, lightweight and durable. EPDM doesn’t scratch or scuff easily.

Metal roofs are a steep slope roofing system option. When installing a metal roof, you can choose from tin, zinc, aluminum, copper, or galvanized steel.  Metal roofs offer a wide variety of styles such as corrugated, tuff rib, standing seam and more. Some advantages of metal roofs include longevity, durability, energy efficiently and environmentally friendly.  The most common metal roofs for commercial uses include hospitals, schools, stores, hotels, government buildings, churches and much more.

Modified Bitumen

Modified bitumen is an asphalt-based product designed for building with low slip or flat roof structures. Some other names for modified bitumen are modified asphalt or mod bit. The seams are sealed using a torch to head the other side of the bituminous material. The most common installation methods are hot application, cold application, heat welded and self-adhered.  Some of the benefits of modified bitumen roofing system is durability, weather resistant, easy to install and flexibility.

Roof Coating

Roof coatings are also known as silicone restoration membrane.  Roof coatings are fluid applied silicone that is sprayed directly onto an existing roofing system. A silicone roof coating is a single layer of silicon that is rolled or sprayed as a liquid to fill cracks, blisters and seams. The process does not improve any insulation or underlaying system but does add an extra layer of protection. Some of the benefits to roof coating are cost savings, extended life roof and short project duration.
